Hey, Donna....
I thought you were supposed to be RESTING....(chuckle chuckle)
Hope you're feeling better.

I AM resting! I've already read two Agatha Christy's and EL Doctorow's Ragtime! But Paul is busy working away and we had to make this announcement as soon as we could!
Thanks, though - this chest cold is refusing to budge...but I shall return soon!

Hi Donna,
Even in the midst of your chest cold - Thank you so much! It is going to be so helpful for me!
I've been meaning to write since our phone consultation (was it really that long ago?) to thank you, again, and let you know how supportive and helpful the conversation was! It was the charge I needed and I was revved and ready to go, but Amelia had other plans! She fell on some ice and broke her arm and, even though it was not her writing arm, she behaved as though she couldn't write (or draw or sew or play recorder...) I read her a lot of stories!
Shortly after Christmas, she began saying she was "so exhausted," which is not a word or a behavior in her vocabulary. A friend of her's down the road was diagnosed with mono, so I decided to have her checked. Sure enough, she is on the front end of the virus, so we have another 4 to 6 weeks of moving very slowly.
The Old Testament stories will be so helpful in this "down" time!
By the way, could there be a relationship between her being 9 and 3/4 and the Epstein Barr Virus? Getting older has been rough on her...
Wishing you well and thank you again!
Anne

Hi Anne,
Thank you for your kind words!
It seems to me that any kind of illness is an opportunity for growth - and people often manifest illness at critical junctures in their lives. Whether she is ill so that she can have a chance to slow down a bit or whether she is ill so that her body can heal and then meet the demands of the 9 year change - I wouldn't speculate. That's something for you to perhaps ponder as you consider her illness and what is going on for her.
For sure these Old Testament stories are rich food for the soul - might be just the thing for her to receive as she heals and moves into a new phase of life!
