Hi Donna,
I was wondering what books you might reccommend to go deeper into Waldorf and Steiners teachings? Is there a simple one to start with?
I had heard about the Kingdom of childhood, but do have any other sugesstions?

thanks,
chris

Hi Chris,

Kingdom of Childhood is a good one, as is Rene Querido's Creativity in Education - and the bonus to both is you can go onto the old yahoo group I used to have and do a search on these books and unearth the conversations we had on them. Both were studied on the old list and the comments and discussion are interesting reading.

Click here for the old yahoo group and then search the book titles and you'll find riches! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Waldorf_at_Home/

You can also have a look on the Resources page on my website for further suggested titles.

Happy Reading!

Kingdom of Childhood and any of the "teachers" lectures from Steiner. I first read Practical Advice to Teachers, Discussions with Teachers, Faculty Meetings, and I can't recall which others via ILL about 7 years ago. (Several copies came from Sunbridge.) They're all available online now, but I'm glad my first reading was with those little books in hand. I marveled at Steiner's love for children and his terrific sense of humor. During the reading of PAT I had the most vivid dream about meeting Steiner briefly and attending one of his lectures, it was in full vivid color - lots of purples I recall. The meeting was a brief hand shake/how do you do, but I met his eyes in the dream and could feel his compassion for children so strongly. The dream really touched my heart, that's the effect the lectures had, even translated.
