I'm curious if Living Language contains suggestions on getting into the letters with one's body. I'm talking about concrete examples of ways to walk the letters, things to make and do, etc to go along with the teaching of the letters in first grade. I need some inspiration. We do beeswax forms, draw in the mud, walk big chalk letters, etc, but I would like some other ideas and was curious if I might find some in Living Language.

No - not really. I think that the essence of first grade is simply to present the material and then to let it sleep. The "getting into the body" is more of a general theme - one of fully incarnating in the first grade via rhythmic play, stamping and clapping games, recorder, knitting etc.

Letters aren't like numbers - they don't have a physical reality in the same way. Thus there really isn't so much to get into the body. Enjoy first grade LA - be light with it, imaginative and living. Your daughter will get there! You have many years for her to work in different ways with language as she grows into her own relationship to it!
