Hi, I've been looking at the kind. book and the drawing book after reading all your articles.... We have a pretty good rhythm at our house, tho w/ a nursing baby to accomadate, I struggle with being consistent. I am looking for a resource to help me add a touch of direction and structure to our time in the playroom/schoolroom. We draw, read, play... I don't have much money so I can't buy several books and decide from there. I can't tell if your books or the Oak Meadows books would help me "do" kindergarten better. Or maybe I need someone, or a book, to tell me to relax and wait another year! My 3yo is very excited about "doing stuff" with me, tho, and w/out a curriculum/ syllabus/ whatever, I feel at a loss, or put him off. Any thoughts for me???

Well, OM's kindie program is really not for a child as young as yours - it is much too set as it is intended more for the 5 and 6 year old crowd. And, they also made the non Waldorf decision to teach letters in kindergarten. So I really would not recommend their program.
My book is all about the elements of kindergarten - although I offer possible schedules, the point is I give loads of assistance with ideas on crafts, stories, play, rest, being outside etc etc so that you can make the right kind of kindergarten experience for your child. Three is very, very young - this is a great year to get the rhythms of kindergarten going, the healthy life rhythms which will be the foundations of your growing together.
I strongly recommend my Joyful Movement book as well as it complements the kindergarten book with a wealth of resources and ideas to further the healthy foundations of early childhood. The kindergarten book will last you the next three years and Joyful Movement a good 6, so they are good investments! Plus I give detailed recommendations for further resources in the kindergarten book so you can slowly add to the resources you need.
Good luck!
